Fudgey_Brownie_RecipeI created a heart shaped stencil out of computer paper and used it to dust these little cuties onto my brownies to instantly make them worthy of any Valentine’s Day occassion, or any “I love you” occassion….

Fudgey Brownie Recipe

4 oz Unsweetened Chocolate
1 stick of Butter
1 Tbsp Espresso Powder (optional-this will bring out the yummy chocolately flavor)
1 ½ – 2 cups of Sugar (depending on how sweet you like your brownies)
2 Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla
2/3 cup Flour
1/4 tsp Salt
1 cup Walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup Powdered Sugar for Decorating (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350°F.  Grease a 9×9 baking pan and set aside.

In a microwave safe bowl, place your Unsweetened Chocolate and Butter, and microwave on high for a minute and a half to two minutes.  Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.  Stir in sugar and espresso powder.  Mix in your eggs and vanilla.  Mix in your flour and salt, stir until well combined.

Pour your delicious brownie batter into your prepared baking dish and sprinkle the walnuts (if you so desire) over the top of the brownie batter.  Bake at 350°F for 25-35 minutes.  A toothpick inserted into the center shouldn’t come out completely clean.  The walnuts will be beautifully toasted on top of the brownies.  Let cool before cutting.  It’s easiest to cut these brownies when they are cool with a wet knife, and try to keep your blade clean.
